Practicing self care isn’t always easy, especially when you’re a busy mom. There’s shopping to do, carpools, sporting events, dance class, and work. All things that take you away from your cozy home and out into the chaos of the busy world. Here are ten items I currently keep in my purse for self care on the go.

1. Essential Oil 6 Pack
A pack of 6 organic pure essential oils including Lavender, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Orange, Peppermint, Rosemary. All contained in a convenient little zipper pouch! Also included is a handy reference card giving suggestions on how to use them safely and effectively.
2. Stress Relief Essential Oil Kit from Jeanne Rose
(No longer available from her, but you could make your own or see if you could get one through Enchanted Essences.) This kit includes the following essential oils:
- Bergamot: Used for stress, insomnia, and depression.
- Lavender: Externally good for skin issues, acne, fungus, bites, sores, blisters, cuts, earaches and scratches. Inhale for relief of depression, jet lag, and to promote calmness.
- Rosemary Verbenone: Good for general weakness, arthritis, memory, and mental fatigue. It can also be diluted in a carrier oil for sore muscles.
- Spearmint: Inhale to refresh your mind, relief headaches, and revive your spirit.
- Ylang Ylang: Soothes anger, helps insomnia, and relieves pain.
3. Reiki Spray from Enchanted Essences
It contains pure essential oils of white sage, lavender, frankincense, sandalwood, sage, and citrine gemstone crystals in distilled water. You can use it to spray in a room or around a person to clear negative energy.
It’s perfect for when you need energy or space clearing but can’t burn a sage smudge stick. (I love it for cleansing my office when I’m at work!)
4. Lavender Sachet.
I keep a lavender sachet in a Ziploc bag for when I need a good deep breath of actual, real lavender buds.
5. Trust Yourself Roll-On
I adore this roll on my Napa Valley au Naturel. It smells so good. I love that it not only has essential oils in it, but also green bog orchid essence from Alaskan Essences. I’m a huge fan of Alaskan Essences.
6. Pumpkin Lip Balm from Earthley.
I not only use this as a lip balm but also as a lotion. It basically has all the same ingredients as the whipped pumpkin body butter, just with a little more beeswax. This lip balm allows me to have whipped body butter whereever I am! Plus, it’s all natural, organic, and smells amazing.
7. Homeopathic Calm Drops
These were a gift from my best friend when I was going through a particularly difficult time. This homeopathic remedy has a vanilla taste and provides support for anxiety, strong emotions, and stress. It also “consoles the spirit when coping with grief, trauma, hurt, or symptoms of depression.” It also “nurtures deeper feelings that surface from anxiety, stress, and strong emotions and consoles the spirit when coping with grief, trauma, hurt, or symptoms of depression.” What could be more comforting than that?
8. Breathe Talisman
I love this Breathe talisman from Liz Lamoreux. I use it along with the BlipBlip gong app to remember to stop and take a deep breath every hour.
9. Mantra Cards from my free toolkit.
10. Tea Bags.
I carry a selection of kava, chamomile, and blue pea tea bags for stress relief.
