I am totally loving this all natural bug spray made from essential oils!
Your skin is your largest organ and anything applied directly to it is absorbed into the bloodstream fairly quickly. Many chemicals that are added to commercial insect repellents have proven to be toxic. Using a spray that contains only organic essential oils gives me the peace of mind that I am making the best choice possible for my family’s health.
This summer has been the worst year I can ever remember for ticks. Mosquitoes are also a nuisance at this time of the year and I don’t want anything to stop me from savoring summer. Between gardening, taking walks, and exploring the woods my family spends a lot of time outdoors.
My state has one of the highest rates of Lyme Disease so I am always worried about deer ticks. This year I decided to try this bug spray from Enchanted Essences.
One of the things I love about this spray, besides the fact that it actually works, is that it smells good! It doesn’t have the typical citronella odor of most insect repellents.
I chalk its pleasing smell up to the rose geranium essential oil in it. (Did you know that ticks hate the smell of rose geranium oil? Who would have thought? Rose geranium is one of my favorite essential oils!) It also works great for keeping mosquitoes away. This spray won’t leave any marks or oil residue on clothing and the price can’t be beat, only
$6 for 2 ounces if you act fast the 2 ounce bottle is on sale for only $5!!!! Or, pay $12 for 4 ounces, plus shipping is free on all orders! This is a great deal, especially for a handmade, non-toxic, organic spray.
It contains the following organic essential oils:
Lavender – repels mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, fleas, flies
Lemongrass – mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers, fleas, flies
Tea Tree – mosquitoes, lice, ants, biting insects
Geranium – flies, mosquitoes, ticks
Clove – mosquitoes, fleas, flies
Eucalyptus – mosquitoes
Citronella – mosquitoes
Patchouli – gnats
You might also want to consider an all-natural sunscreen like Earthley’s Sun Shield.
It’s one of their best sellers with a 95% feedback rating.
Most sunscreens use chemicals that absorb the sun’s rays, but they’re are also damaging to your cells. Other natural(ish) sunscreens use physical blocks, like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide to reflect the rays away from your skin. That’s why they go on so thick and white, and why they’re hard to spread!
Neither of these types of sunscreens are actually good for your skin. They do their job in preventing sunburns (sometimes), but they aren’t healthy for your body…Our Sun Shield is different.
It doesn’t absorb the rays or reflect them. Instead, it sinks into your skin and helps to prevent damage at the cellular level. We use pure, plant-based oils infused with whole organic herbs to nourish your skin, block free radicals, and protect your skin from redness, wrinkles, and damage. Every single one of these ingredients has its own natural SPF and skin-nourishing properties.
It’s a totally new approach to a sunscreen!- Earthley
