Do you wish you could find a to help your baby sleep better? Lack of sleep was definitely my number one mama struggle when my daughter was a baby. I tried everything, and I mean everything, to get her to sleep for more than three hours at a time.
The following are a few of my favorite products to help your baby fall asleep:
Sound Therapy Clock Radio
This was probably the best gift I got at my baby shower (and I didn’t even register for it!) This genius little sound machine has various settings including white noise, rain, babbling brook, and more. We always turned babbling brook on when putting my daughter to bed. Due to its small size, it’s easy to travel with and makes putting your baby to bed in a strange place much easier.
Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier
This humidifier provides soothing, cool, moisture to help your child sleep. It features a scented pad that releases menthol vapors and also has a projector screen that shines stars on your child’s bedroom ceiling. What more could you want?
Warm Glow Wipes Warmer
I thought this little item was just a luxury product created to entice new parents into purchasing yet another unnecessary item for their little one. Then I had a baby in the middle of two blizzards in January. Trust me, nothing gets a baby wide a wake in the middle of the night like changing their diaper and wiping them with a cold wipe. I spent the winter blowing on wipes to warm them before changing my daughter. Note to self: I should have gotten the wipes warmer!
I made our own “nursery mist” with lavender essential oils, or you could purchase one like this. Every night I sprayed it on the crib sheets and around my daughter. You could literally see her rub her eyes and start to get sleepy when she inhaled its relaxing scent.
Adjustable Swaddle Blankets
I never knew anything about swaddling before I had a baby. Swaddling really does work like a charm to calm a new baby. I was amazing how the nurses at the hospital could wrap my little peanut up in a tiny little bundle so easily. It is definitely an acquired skill, which is why my husband and I liked these adjustable swaddling blankets, no prior experience necessary!
Bonus Idea: Peaceful Pauses Card Deck
Perfect for the sleep deprived mama! Motherhood can be hard, especially at first. It can feel like life changes overnight. Trying to tackle breastfeeding and crying babies, while healing from childbirth, not to mention dealing with fluctuating hormones, is overwhelming. I know, because for months I walked around like a sleep deprived zombie after my daughter was born. I felt so alone.
Moms need a gentle hand to walk them through the times when everything feels like one big blur of feeding, changing diapers, and sleepless nights. They need a friend to help them weave self care and calm into their days. That’s why I’ve created the Peaceful Pauses deck of cards. There are thirty cards, one for each day of the month.
These cards contain tangible ideas to help make the postpartum period more calm and peaceful for yourself. They are simple yet comforting ideas to guide you through your days.
